Contacts For Distribution and Logistics
This department is comprised of twelve Distribution Centers and one Ice Cream Plant that service the nearly 4,800 Rite Aid stores throughout the U.S. Ten of the fourteen Distribution Centers are located in the eastern half of the United States. The remaining three Distribution Centers and the Ice Cream Plant are located on the West Coast of the United States. The operations of these Distribution Centers are supported by the following departments that fall under the Distribution & Logistics umbrella:
DISTRIBUTION INVENTORY MANAGEMENT- This group is responsible for all purchasing activities for product that flows through a Rite Aid Distribution Center. They work with Category Management, stores and Distribution Centers to provide optimal inventory levels to support store demands and maintain a high service level on product. Additionally, they interface with suppliers to ensure that order factors, product availability, forecasting and shipping are optimized to ensure timely, accurate and efficient order deliveries are made to the DC's.
DISTRIBUTION SUPPORT- This department is responsible for supporting the various aspects of the DC's. These areas include quality issues, safety/worker's compensation, inventory control, regulatory and operational compliance (DEA), and reverse logistics (returns).
LOGISTIC SERVICES- This group is responsible for providing the information and associated analysis to manage the DC's. They create and maintain the data warehouse where they obtain their statistics and information. They also establish and monitor the budget by providing weekly/ monthly tracking reports. Data gathering and analysis are completed to support strategic and tactical decision-making.
STRATEGIC PLANNING- This group is responsible for providing a strategic view for the department. They handle project planning, management, and industrial process development for the engineering aspect of our DC's. They act as a liaison between Distribution users and Information Services developers; identifying enhancements in existing systems and maintaining support are also key tasks. They develop and maintain communication through the supply chain while conducting appropriate analysis. (Ex: Pro Rep Productivity Planning Tool)
