Retail Store Hourly

Rite Aid offers a wide variety of non-management career opportunities in our stores. Please note that the following job opportunities can be full or part time, but not all positions are available in all stores at all times.

Cashier

• Responsible for providing excellent customer service by assisting customers with their shopping needs, answering customer inquiries, and resolving customer complaints.
• Complete customer transactions on the cash register.
• Ensure the appearance of the store is pleasing to the customer.
• Stock store shelves and end-caps with merchandise when it is delivered to the store.
• Assist with the operation of the One-hour Photo department, if applicable.
• Complete inventory counts and order merchandise based on the results.
• Additional tasks as assigned.

Pharmacy Technician

• Ensure prompt service in the Pharmacy department by assisting customers and operating the cash register.
• Accept customer and prescription information, including refill authorization, from doctor's offices where permitted by state law.
• Retrieve the appropriate medication from inventory where permitted by state law.
• Create prescription labels and put them on prescription containers where permitted by state law.
• Place medication into prescription containers where permitted by state law.
• Input customer and prescription data into the computer system where permitted by law.
• Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions.
• Assist with maintaining the Pharmacy department by keeping it clean and in order.
• Additional tasks as assigned.

Pharmacy Cashier

• Responsible for providing excellent customer service by assisting pharmacy customers with their shopping needs, answering customer inquiries, and resolving customer complaints.
• Complete pharmacy customer transactions on the cash register.
• Retrieve prescriptions from the will-call area for customers.
• Assist customers in the over-the-counter medication area of the retail store.
• Assist with prescription processing where applicable by law.
• Additional tasks as assigned.

Shift Supervisor (must be employed by Rite Aid for a period of time before being placed into this role)

• Fulfill supervisory responsibilities and other duties of store management when assigned as the person in charge.
• Provide superior customer service by assisting customers with their shopping needs, handling all customer transactions in a timely and courteous manner, and responding to customer complaints/concerns with a sense of urgency to see to their resolution.
• Merchandise plan-o-grams within seasonal departments, end caps, displays and basic inline departments according to store management direction and corporate standards.
• Control inventory by performing proper receiving and stocking standards including accurate cycle counting, and processing merchandise transfers according to procedures.
• Accountable for store cash and all other financial assets, reconciling cash register drawers, preparing deposits, and ordering changes from the bank.
• Assist with the general maintenance and appearance of the store by ensuring a safe and pleasing environment for both customers and associates.
• Additional tasks as assigned.
