Rite Aid Makes Medicare Part D Planning Easy for Patients and Caregivers

Rite Aid's Medicare Prescription Drug Plan Guide & Web Site Offer Additional Information
Camp Hill, PA (November 16, 2009) - Rite Aid pharmacies across the country are helping ease the Medicare Part D enrollment process now underway by offering a free Medicare Part D for Seniors planning guide in stores and online, as well as an online Medicare Advisor tool with personalized comparison plans. Pharmacists in more than 4,800 Rite Aid stores are offering Medicare Part D counseling and can print a personalized report featuring the three lowest-cost plans best for seniors' current medication needs.
Resources available to seniors and their caregivers include the following:
- A quick way to learn about Medicare Part D, why evaluation of plans is necessary, six steps to pick a new plan and directory of resources in the free Medicare Part D for Seniors guide available in all Rite Aid stores and on online at www.riteaid.com.
- A free, personalized tool that brings pushbutton simplicity to finding and choosing the right Medicare Prescription Drug Plan, including a detailed comparison of all available local plans with drug prices, deductibles and monthly premiums so patients can compare plans side by side, available at www.riteaid.com/medicareadvisor.
Medicare enrollees have until December 31 to review their current plan or enroll in a new plan, but they are encouraged to submit their application by December 8 or sooner to help assure benefits will start January 1, 2010. Those eligible for the Medicare Part D benefit include people over age 65 and those with disabilities
Rite Aid also offers its senior customers additional benefits through its free loyalty program Living More which now has more than 4 million enrolled members and offers free enrollment at any Rite Aid pharmacy or www.riteaid.com. Benefits include the following:
- 20 percent discount on purchases the first Tuesday of every month
- 10 percent discount on the other Tuesdays of the month (some limitations apply, see store for details)
- 10 percent discount on cash prescriptions every day (not available in California due to state law)
- 10 percent discount on Rite Aid brand products everyday and exclusive specials throughout the store.
