Rite Aid Introduces Risk-Free Cosmetics Shopping
Wrong Color? No Problem.
New Money Back Guarantee Means Rite Aid Pays for that "Oops"
Harrisburg, PA. (March 17, 1997) - Rite Aid has just taken the worry out of shopping for cosmetics with a new money back guarantee. Beginning March 23, customers who aren't 100% satisfied with their cosmetic selections may return them to their neighborhood Rite Aid store for a full refund, no questions asked.
Don't like that burnt auburn lip liner you bought last week? Rose sienna eye shadow isn't quite your color? It's not a problem when customers buy their cosmetics at Rite Aid.
The new money back guarantee is part of a full-scale plan to make Rite Aid the destination point for women's cosmetic purchases. To start, Rite Aid is expanding its selection of brand names, adding new products and the latest colors, and upgrading the overall look of its cosmetic departments.
The new no fault guarantee will go into effect March 23 with the kick off of a targeted advertising campaign in major metropolitan markets. It includes television commercials, ads in national women's magazines, and new in-store signs promoting the guarantee.
Rite Aid also will offer "Beauty the Rite Way" brochures free to customers monthly, which include beauty tips, information on different brands and coupons good for savings on cosmetics and skin-care products.
As Beth Kaplan, Rite Aid executive vice president of marketing explains, "Shopping for cosmetics can be tricky. Most women have misjudged colors or disliked new products at some point in their life."
"We want to encourage customers to try new products. Our money back guarantee ensures that a woman won't be stuck with a cosmetic that doesn't suit her personal style."
