Save your skin by mapping its changes.
When changes appear on your skin, it's important that you note them, and then consult a health care professional if they are out of the ordinary. You can see some of the differences between harmless and cancerous conditions with our Melanoma Chart. But first you have to map the changes, and we've made it easy with this tool you can print out now and use any time you need it.
How to use the Body Map.
On your first self-examination, make a dot corresponding to the location of each freckle, mole, birthmark, bump, sore, scab or scaly patch. Draw a line out to the margin and indicate its approximate size (with the scale provided) plus its color and the date you recorded it.
Following up is easy.
For each subsequent exam, find the spots on your skin that matches the dots, record the new dates next to the old one, and note any change in size, color, or shape. Record any spots you did not see on the last examination.
Your Self Examination Schedule.
Use this supplied tool to track the year, month and date of your self-examinations.
