Rite Aid Returns to Entertainment Industry Foundation Revlon Run/Walk For Women as Platinum Sponsor

 Run/Walk Proceeds Fund Cutting-Edge Women's Cancer Research, Counseling & Outreach

CAMP HILL, Pa. (May 1, 2013) - Rite Aid (NYSE: RAD) is proud to announce its second straight year of support for one of the country's premier women's cancer run/walks, marking platinum sponsorship for both the New York and the Los Angeles events this May. Rite Aid is fielding teams of runners and walkers, manning booths, and bringing in America's favorite fitness expert Denise Austin to warm up participants. Rite Aid is also partnering with Revlon to donate a combined $100,000 to the Entertainment Industry Foundation to support the fight against women's cancer.

In its 20th year, the EIF Revlon Run/Walk For Women draws tens of thousands of cancer survivors, patients, loved ones and supporters. Rite Aid stores in the nation's two largest cities are already helping register teams for the two events, to be held in New York's Central Park on May 4, and at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum at Exposition Park on May 11. Before both events, celebrity fitness guru Denise Austin will lead runners and walkers in warm-up stretches. Austin is also a spokeswoman for the FOREVER FIT™ line of light home fitness equipment/products available only at Rite Aid.

"I am honored and excited to be joining Rite Aid, Revlon and the Entertainment Industry Foundation at both the New York and Los Angeles EIF Revlon Run/Walk events this year," said fitness expert Denise Austin. "Though I'll be leading the warm ups and motivating runners and walkers, for me, the true inspiration will come from the crowd filled with survivors of women's cancers and their many supporters."  

In order to help raise awareness and drive excitement for the EIF Revlon Run/Walk, Rite Aid has created a "Celebrating Women" page on its Facebook page to the Run/Walk, which is online at www.facebook.com/riteaid. Through May 11, visitors to the page can register a team, donate and publicly honor the women in their lives. Using a custom-built Facebook app, visitors can upload a photo and "glamourize" it with fun digital props including a medal, confetti, official Run/Walk hat, stylish heart sunglasses and more. The photo can then be easily shared with other Facebook friends to help raise awareness and support for the cause. As a thank you, sharing a glamourized photo reveals a Rite Aid photo deal.

Rite Aid customers can also save just by visiting the "Celebrating Women" tab on Rite Aid's Facebook page, where a rotating selection of exclusive Rite Aid coupons are available in limited quantities. The printable coupons offer instant savings on select Revlon purchases at Rite Aid stores. On the day of the Run/Walk, participants can enter a live Twitter contest for a chance to save even more at Rite Aid simply by tweeting a Run/Walk photo to @RiteAid. Three photos from each event will be chosen at random for a $50 Rite Aid gift card. Visit www.twitter.com/riteaid for details.

To sign up for either event, participants can look for brochures at select local Rite Aid stores in both cities. Rite Aid customers can also save $5 on the registration fee using the discount code "Rite Aid" online at www.RevlonRunWalk.org.

To encourage runners and walkers to pick up registration packets early for the Los Angeles event, Rite Aid stores in Lakewood and on Magnolia Boulevard in North Hollywood served as official Run/Walk packet pickup locations. Visitors were able to pick up their official T-shirts, grab beauty gift bags, and get free mini-manicures using Shining Strength and Press on Pink nail enamels, two Revlon shades inspired by women who faced cancer in their lives.
