Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible update to a classic recipe I have been eating Banquet Fried Chickens for over 25 years so I am really puzzled with this recipe update. I can see why a food company would want to update a recipe to make it more relevant in this day and age of the foodies and food channels, but this update is just bafflingly dreadful. It now takes 50+ minutes to cook the pieces and even with that extra time the batter tastes greasy and soggy. The appearance of the pieces just looks really unappetizing; they look like some machine pressed them out. Why would a company make an update that makes its products look less appealing? I will not be buying any more of this product with this recipe.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I agree with the other 99% I have loved this chicken from childhood and could always count on it as a meal that would never disappoint. Unfortunately, last year it left me completely disappointed when I realized the recipe had been changed. I kept hoping that I would pick up a box and the original recipe returned. I stopped buying the chicken last year and will not purchase again until I know the original recipe has returned. Bad part for banquet I am afraid is that it is going to take a lot of marketing to show your once loyal customers that you finally decided to listen. Many may think of it as just a box of processed chicken, but for me it was comfort food.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why change a classic? Growing up as a child (and a huge fried chicken fan) I was always happy on the occasion my parents brought home a box of Banquet Fried Chicken for dinner. I'm now 48 and was surprised by the box I purchased last night for dinner. Sure, it was a larger box (2 breasts, 3 thighs and 1 leg) but I immediately noticed the visual change in the recipe. Then, after baking I took the plunge and bit into the leg. Wasn't happy at all. This reminds me when Coke made a recipe change and then had to bring back classic because the new flavor sucked. Anyway, I hope you bring back the 'Original' as I will never buy this again (and close the book on a childhood favorite).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Please change it back I agree with all my fellow 1 star writers. There has definitely been a recipe change, although not noted on the packaging, and it is just awful. My family used to look forward to Banquet chicken night, but now everyone is super bummed because you can't get good fried chicken anywhere around us. I understand that it's boxed by weight and the sizes and number of pieces can vary, but dang, where do you get your mammoth chickens? Smaller sized pieces would be so much better than 4 gigantic, dry breasts. And the new mushy, gross breading....just nasty. Please listen to your consumers and change it back!!! It was fine to try something new, but trust me, it didn't work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Please change back the recipe! I noticed that banquet changed the recipe a few years back. This new recipe is not as tasty as the original. The actual chickeen does not even resemble the packaging. The company seems to be using images of the former chicken recipe. I bought a box of the frozen chicken the other day because of the packaging. The box stated that this was the original Banquet chicken. From this I assumed Banquet had went back to the original recipe, as the package implies. Needless to say, I was disappointed when I opened the box. Please change it back to the original recipe or update the packaging so I don't get disappointed again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WHY?? Me and my family have been eating this chicken for over a decade! Something happened! First it started with the hot wings.I noticed they were big and that crispy taste was gone. Now they are soggy. Now you have changed my fried chicken also?? You guys have no idea how angry my kids are! My son used to love this chicken so much that i had to buy him his own box. This was before the plastic bag.Now he doesn't eat not ONE piece!!!! Also some boxes are really bad.i came across a box that had mushy skin and pieces of bones and feathers on the skin!! Really? Something sinister has happened to this chicken! Please change it back!!!! I would pay more money for the old recipe to return!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad decision You need to change your chicken back to the way it was. For years I purchased and enjoyed this product. I even recommended it to a friend after she tried it. Unfortunately this must have been when you changed the recipe. She called to tell me that it did not taste as good as mine. I thought maybe something was wrong with her oven. The next time I purchased this I understood what she was saying. This is nothing like what it use to be. We will never buy this again. I'm not sure who you're trying to target now but you've let your current customers down. Also, why are you only supplying chicken breast?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Change it back! I have been a fan of Banquet Crispy Chicken since the 1970's and can actually remember when you could buy a full 32 oz. box for under $3.00. It usually contained 8 pieces including the wings. The recent recipe change has unfortunately left me desperately looking for an alternative. What used to be crispy and delicious is now mushy, doughy and bland. Our supermarkets have stopped stocking the product so I have made the full conversion to their deli fried chicken. I can freeze and reheat it just like the formerly great Banquet product. I'm sad that you ruined a regular Monday night treat for me.
