Beneful Dog Food 56 oz (3.5 lb) 1.59 kg is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 11496.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor Ingredients, Bad Reaction So, initially I really liked this product. My nine year old Chocolate Lab loved it, but I did notice she had a bad reaction to it. She got a hot spot within 24 hours and was itching horribly, her usual reaction to generic dog food ingredients. I really liked the advertising that its made in the US, but reading the ingredients just disappointed me. Same old horrible ingredients that over time will harm my dog and make her sick. I've spent years keeping her on special food so that she stays healthy. So overall, this dog food is nothing special, and if your dog is sensitive, I do not recommend. Rated 2 out of 5 by from It's ok for grocery store type dog food Beneful is ok but I prefer to feed my dogs higher quality food. They have extremely sensitive stomachs, so my dogs have a lot of trouble with certain foods. They do much better with grain free, gluten free foods. I would love to find a lower cost dog food, especially since my dogs are nearly 250 lbs combined, (which adds up to a whole lot of food consumed) but for now, I am having to stick with the gluten free, grain free brand that doesn't upset their stomachs. I will say that my dogs seemed to enjoy the smell & taste of Beneful. Unfortunately, their tummy trouble after eating it was not fun. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doggy approved! A big thank you to PinchMe and Beneful for this sample! I was very impressed with this dog food. This dog food is doggy approved! Our dog ate this up, no problem. He has a sensitive stomach, other dog foods have made his tummy upset in the past, with issues of making him throw up in the past, or get gassy. But, he had no such issues with the Beneful food at all. I was very impressed with this dog food, it seems to be a good, quality food. I would recommend this to dog owners. The Beneful dog food line makes many different varieties of dog food, so there should be one that is right for your dog. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Paw-Licking Good! I have a German Shepard named Shady and I waited until she finished her dry mix before giving her Purina Beneful Healthy Weight Adult Dry Dog Food. As soon as she sniffed it, it seemed like she totally inhaled it - she ate it so fast! I kind of became a bit misty eyed because it made me feel so happy to watch her eat it knowing that she really loved it! I felt like I boosted her life expectancy! I called my cousin up who has a Saint Bernard, Oatus, and told her that I think she'd really LOVE this dog food! I'm so excited to go shopping now - knowing that she likes the taste and texture! Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what I expected I received Purina Beneful Healthy Weight dry dog food and I was very excited for my dog to try it. Unfortunately, he sniffed it and after eating a couple of bites, walked away. Reading the ingredients, I learn that indeed the first ingredient is chicken, but the second is chicken-by-product then corn, wheat, rice, corn gluten, and by the time I reached the egg and chicken flavor part, I stopped reading. I was disappointed in being mislead this product was good for my dog, who is part of our family. We love our dog and I just cannot see him eating Purina Beneful Healthy Weight at all. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Help your pet stay active. My dog was beginning to get a little over weight. I received the Beneful healthy weight sample from Pinchme. At first I mixed it half and half with his regular food. After a couple days he has been eating the healthy weight brand right up all by itself. I purchased another bag of the healthy weight and he has been on it a little over two weeks. He has already trimmed down some and he is more playful and active now. I will continue to give him Beneful healthy weight a little longer then go back to his regular Beneful but control a little more how much he eats of it. Thank you Beneful and Pinchme for the sample. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Healthy Weight, but bad flatulence I really like Beneful Healthy Weight because it has fewer calories, which is a plus for my dog who has a slow thyroid. While the formula lists real chicken as an ingredient, I would still like to see a grain free healthy weight version of Beneful. This would not only help my dog's weight, but also his skin and coat. My dog loves Beneful of all varieties, but I don't think it's the best brand of dog food out there for him, even for the price. The food doesn't upset his stomach, thankfully, but it does give him AWFUL gas! We don't incur this problem with his regular food. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Both dogs loved it I have a Pomeranian and an Australian Shephard. The Aussie is easy to please. I knew she would love it and she did. Unfortunately she has a sensitive stomach so she threw up after eating it. Most likely it was just introducing something new in her diet that wasn't her regular food. The Pomeranian typically doesn't eat all of his food in one pass. He likes to leave some in his bowl and graze throughout the day. With Beneful Healthy Weight dog food he ate the entire bowl as fast as he could. At the next meal I mixed his old food with the Beneful and he only ate the Beneful and left his old food in his bowl.
