Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for baking I've always used this to make the Nestle famous fudge and it gets great reviews from everyone every year! This is also great for pumpkin pies too. I would love if there was a lactose-free version that I could substitute, like coconut milk. Would it be possible for Nestle to sell coconut milk? Right now I have to go to asian or middle-eastern supermarkets to find it. There's definitely a market for it that just hasn't been tapped yet.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No Substitute I need lactose free milk. Just substituted plain whole milk lactose free yogurt for evaporated milk in pumpkin pie and it did not come out as good as when I use Carnation evaporated milk. But please consider making the evaporated milk lactose free.....otherwise there's no reason for me to use your product. If you make it lactose free everyone can still use it and I'm not left out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THE Brand to Bake Your Baked Goods With! If it's for cooking & baking with, of course it'll taste that way! I've never made a bad sweet potato pie (other than the one time I'd forgotten to add sugar, but that native tater's flavor & ice cream made up for it that time) and I always make this milk (it's for cooking/baking NOT drinking!) an important ingredient... Thanks, Carnation, Thanks!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nestle, please get the BPA out of can linings. I like Nestle's Carnation Evaporated Milk but I have just learned that there is BPA, a known carcinogen, in the can lining. Nestle has said it plans to phase out BPA in its products' can linings, but the company hasn't done so yet. Nestle, please get the BPA out of the can linings! We don't want to have this chemical in our bodies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only milk I put in my three mugs of morning coffee Since childhood, this has been my milk. My Dutch family used it in coffee. Still, in the Dutch Caribbean, coffee comes with small containers of one serving of evaporated milk on the side. Please tell me where to purchase evap milk in single serving containers in the States! I only see "half and half" or chemical whiteners here.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I use it all the time in baking and cooking. I just read on the can after all these years. That it contains Carrageenan I looked it up to see what it is. It is derived from red seaweed and has no food value. Ir's use to keep fluids mixed. The can say's ,Shake Well. So what's the need for Carrageenan. I I understand it has many health side effects, so why use it. Thank J

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! Need to know ounces in prior production? I love your milk but have difficulty using it when using older recipes since many only state to use a "small can of milk" and the size of the can has changed. Would it be possible to give us "old cooks" something that would indicate the dates ounces changed and the amount of change that was made? Thanks for a great product!
