Rated 2 out of 5 by from Color doesn't REMOTELY match the box! I bought this to cover grays and basically just give my hair a boost before going on a Christmas vacation. After following the directions in the box to a "T", I am so very disappointed in the result! I bought Color #N, "LIGHT soft golden brown" because it closely matched my hair. (the advertised color on the piece of the box I'm holding is more blonde and my hair is darker than it appears. The first pic is before I used this, showing that my color is similar to the L'oreal product. After 3 shampoos with Prell...I'm STILL a dark ashy brown. My hair was in good condition and I hadn't colored in 3-4 months. I will NEVER buy this product again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from disappointed My husband bought this for me instead of my usual Excellence. It was 9 G just as I requested. I keep my hair very light, and my roots are white. So I was excited to use it to cover my roots. Well, I followed the directions carefully even though I have used and loved your products for years. To my surprise, the product made no difference in my hair at all. My roots are still white, not the blond promised by the product. To make matters worse, I live an hour from a store where I can buy another box, and I am leaving on vacation on Friday. I am also concerned about dying my hair again so soon. What's going on?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from terrible! why do the color names not match with the letter? usually N means neutral or natural and G means gold, but this color was supposed to be golden. why not 6G? i was hesitant when i saw the N thought it might be too dark and boy was i right! no gold at all ! came out as if i had used ash brown. left my grays an odd ash shade. i was only changing my color by a shade or 2 but now it's so dark i hate it. might have to get one of those color removers and start over. also the conditioner too greasy. going back to garnier nutrise or my usual preference or excellence where the color name and number make sense and are true to shade!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I've used the L'Oreal Excellence and Preference for many years. Since I am getting greyer now, thought I would try this new formula. I chose 9N since it seemed closest to the 9 1/2 N shade I use in the other products. Very disappointed. Much darker than I expected. I won't be using it again. I'm also dismayed that a product aimed at mature women with mostly grey hair has such non-mature models on the boxes. A company of your stature in the cosmetics world needs to be more forward in advertising and model choices that reflect the product's intended demographic. Thank you.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Shockingly Dark I used Age Perfect by Excellence (color 6B Light Soft Neutral Brown) on my hair yesterday. My hair was a light blonde with gray near to roots so I just wanted to darken it a little and make it all one color. According to the box label, my hair should have turned out even lighter than the color shown color on the box. WHAT A BIG MISTAKE!!!! Now my hair is a very dark brown, kind of like a chestnut brown. I rewashed my hair this morning hoping some of the color would wash out, with no luck. Now I don't even want to leave my house. I'm calling my hair stylist ASAP to find out how to undo this hot mess!!! I should have read these reviews (before) using this product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Way too dark I decided to try this instead of going to the salon. My color, which had been a medium brown, had really faded and with the gray, I definitely looked like I needed to color it. I chose the medium natural brown. At 62, the darker colors just don't look good anymore. I ended up with dark brown that screamed at-home color. I will say there was shine, but that's it. Very disappointed and feel like some of the other reviewers -- not only did it not match the model on the box (which I don't expect anyway), but wa much darker than the darkest brown pic on the back.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hair was 4 or 5 shades darker then expected It seems that they discontinued my previous product but I had such great results with L'Oréal, I decided to give this a try. I am so disappointed in how dark my hair turned out with L'Oreal Excellence Age Perfect Medium Natural Brown 5N. If I would have known that this is the case, I would have picked a significantly lighter shade. Also, the box Says radiant color, natural highlights. No highlights here - just dark brown almost black hair. I am not sure what to do. I bought a box of Ferrara - but the directions say not to use it on hair dyed a dark color. Boy this is frustrating.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrified by the outcome I have naturally light/medium auburn hair but the front has turned grey/blond. I've been frosting the front to highlight my hair and now it's no longer necessary to frost as it's all pretty much white. I wanted to lighten up the back of the hair a bit and make it all the same color. I chose medium soft golden brown (5g) and to my horror my entire head is a dark dark brown. It's horrible. It has no shine and looks like someone poured chocolate over my head. I've always used loreal with no problem, but this is just the worst ever. It's really a dark mousy brown. I don't even know where to go from here.
