Rated 1 out of 5 by from Flat Out Lousy We've eaten Dinty Moore Beef Stew for years, but hadn't had any since last Fall. This weekend we picked up a couple of cans to have for quick meals and had some tonight. It was terrible tasting stuff and we didn't finish it. I just accessed this website and found these poor reviews, and I have to say that we agree that Dinty Moore isn't good anymore. It's flat out lousy. Why change a recipe that stood the test of time? Dinty Moore used to be so delicious, but this mess wasn't even close to what we remembered. I doubt we'll even open the second can and will probably throw it away.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Why the change in recipe? Mushrooms? Ick I don't know why they changed it. It was perfect as it was. Why do companies ruin what was once wonderful? Do they not realize they will lose their life long supporters by the attempt to gain a few new people? Pringles did this to their basic chip in 2010 or 2011 (I think to make it crispier) and it ruined the flavor. I can't even eat them now they're nothing like they were. Whatever they changed just ruined it, like Dinty did here.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Changed For The Worse I used to love the taste when it had real stew meat in it; now it has ground meat with soybeans and it tastes terrible. It was the only stew I liked; I expected quality from the Hormel brand and now that it is cheapened, I will not buy any more of it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from sad This was a favorite comfort food. Unfortunately the recipe change has made it almost inedible.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hearty Dinty Moore Beef Stew The new Hearty Dinty Moore Beef Stew tastes terrible and can best compared to dog food. First time we tried it we looked at other and said "YUCK" in unison. First and last time. No more Hearty garbage for us! Thanks so much Hormel! The original Dinty Moore Beef Stew was delicious and my family ate it twice a week. Too bad companies don't know how to leave a good thing alone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why... did you take a great tasting product and turn it into something I won't eat? I grew up car camping and there was nothing better than having Dinty Moore for supper on a piece of bread. I recently bought a couple of cans to take to my cabin and very disappointed when I opened the first one. It is now meatball stew and tastes nothing like I remember. Please change it back and raise the price if you have too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from My whole family is disgusted!!! When I was a child I use to eat dinty moore beef stew all the time. It was my favorite thing to eat. My whole family use too eat it all the time. Every since you guys changed it, it doesn't taste good at all. Me and my whole family are disappointed and I'm just gonna say that if you changed it back to the way it use too be then your sales would probably go back up. I probably have had 20 some people in my family say they won't even touch it anymore and we all use to eat it all the time. Please change it back

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unfortunately they changed the recipe I recall they changed the recipe a few years ago. I keep trying it and hoping I can get a can where they go back to their original recipe. But, it just doesn't happen. They used to have the meatball stew which was similar to the old recipe. But they now seem to have discontinued that as well. Really miss the old recipe with the thicker gravy and pieces of stew meat. Hope they bring it back someday.
