How to Prevent Allergies

When a product has D by it, it means that the product is a decongestant. If there's an A after the brand name, the product is designed to treat allergies.

Oral antihistamines and decongestants+

These products block histamines and help clear congestion and improve breathing. Rite Aid Cetiri-D, Fexofenadine D, Lorata-D, Allegra-D, Clartin-D, Zyrtec-D.

Nasal decongestants +

They narrow blood vessels and reduce blood flow to the affected area to help clear congestion and improve breathing. Do not use for more than 3 days. Rite Aid 12-hour Nasal Spray, Sinex Nasal Spray.

Saline Rinses +

These products physically remove and thin out secretions. Plus, they may rinse out allergens and irritants. Rite Aid Saline Nasal Spray, Xlear Nasal Saline.

Combination Eye Drops +

Narrow blood vessels and block histamines in the eye. Rite Aid Eye Allergy Relief Drops, Opcon-A, Clear Eyes Maximum Itchy Eye Relief, Naphcon-A, Visine-A, Zaditor.
