Rated 3 out of 5 by from I love it but.... I've been using this product for quite sometime now and I've never had a problem with coverage in the past as I just focus on the top and sides of my head (just the roots) and always had enough to finish. However, I feel like maybe there is less product in the bottle now. It's only half full even after adding the color solution. I couldn't believe after using it so many times that I didn't have enough to do the right side of my head once the top and left were done. Then a few months later, I spread it out and just had enough to do the top and the area around my face. Am I crazy or is there less ounces in the bottle? Love the product but there needs to be more in it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I just used this for the first time. I was nervous because of mixed reviews, but went with my gut and gave it a try. GREAT RESULTS! My natural color is dark brown with a little gray. I have it dyed to overall light-medium brown with blonde highlights. I used the medium brown root rescue only on my part, my hairline and a row or 2 beyond the part. Let it in for 15 minutes because of my resistant gray. I rinsed with cold water, than shampooed twice as my fear was the dye would color my highlights. I ended up with almost no loss of highlights, beautiful matching and blending, and gray gone! Looks terrific! Thank you L'Oreal.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too dark again -- 2.0! As an earlier reviewer wrote, I also wanted to cover gray roots without salon visit. Knowing I have resistant grey hair, I left it on for almost 20 minutes. I bought Light Brown # 6 because I have dark blonde, unbleached hair and have had trouble covering greys with blonde hair colours in the past. Although box says "suitable for roots that are one shade lighter or darker than your colored hair," I now have brunette roots. Guess I will be attending Thanksgiving dinner with reverse ombre look not of my design. I did like the comb applicator but am now gobsmacked to learn this is permanent Level # 3 and I will have to shampoo daily til who knows when.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it .................. I have been using Clairol Root Touch up for years but I decided to try L'oreal Root Rescue because my old brand was not covering the grey as well as I liked. I am absolutely THRILLED with my new find. The L'oreal Root Rescue covered my grey roots and my hair feels so soft and looks really shiny! Thank you L'oreal .....I will definately be using this product again and again!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too Dark! I bought the Root Rescue in a LIGHT BROWN #6. My gray areas are in front of my ears and at the top/front of my hair. My color DID NOT turn out Light Brown. My color turned Dark Brown, almost Black. Now my hair is completely messed up. The front is dark, dark brown, while the sides and back are my normal Light Brown. It looks ridiculous and now I have to buy an all over color to fix the two-toned mess. Why can't you be accurate in your colors? Why, if the color says "light brown" does it come out almost black? Coloring my hair again is going to do damage, and I'm not happy about it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I bought this thinking why buy an entire box of color when I only need a root touch up! It cost almost the same price as a full box of color. So, trying not to be wasteful I bought it. I followed the instructions exactly as written. When I got in the shower I thought yeah, grays are gone for a while. After towel drying, then blow drying I was shocked to see all the gray still there! It didn't work at all! What a waste of my time & money! About 2 months later I tried it again, thinking maybe I made a mistake. Nope! Still didn't color my gray roots at all! I'm trying the new Mousse Absolue this week. We'll see how it goes. But I will not waste time or money on Root Rescue again. Ever!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Turned my roots red! I have used the competition root color for years and have always been pleased. I decided to try Root Rescue to see if it worked better. I used the medium golden brown shade as directed and it turned my roots red and brassy! I had to go purchase some purple shampoo immediately to try to tone it down and will have to get a toner applied. Don't ever use this product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Glad I tried it I regularly color my fairly dark ash blonde hair to cover grays. Recently I custom mixed a medium and dark ash blonde for myself, using 1/2 of each color with level 20 developer and liked it best. However my stubborn grays always release color first, leaving gray at my hairline or part. I was please with the ease and speed of using Root Rescue in Dark Blonde to cover those areas. It is important to note that Dark Blonde is seriously dark when first applied and my color is almost a light brown. If you are unsure, I would try the medium blonde first to avoid a slight shock. I find that all hair dyes in my range begin very dark and lighten after a few shampoos. The speed and convenience were a plus for me in middle age.
