Neutrogena Pure & Free Baby Sunblock Stick, SPF 60+ - 0.47 oz is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 116.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Physical sunblock is the best The reason you get that "chalky" appearance is that the sunscreen ingredients in this stick are titanium dioxide and zinc oxide - ingredients that physically block out UV rays (versus chemical ones that "block" UV rays by chemically reacting with them). I would prefer this type of sunscreen on my kids' skin. I've also developed an allergic reaction to chemical sunscreens - my dermatologist says he is noticing more people having allergic reactions to the chemical sunblocks. I'll take chalky over inflammation and rash any day.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It didn't work at all. I used the Pure & Free® Baby Sunscreen Stick Broad Spectrum SPF 60 on my 2 and a half year old's face ears and neck before going to the beach. I reapplied often, and used a lot of the product each time. I used a different product on the rest of her body. That night, we discovered her face ears and neck were sun burned. she was red, itchy and so uncomfortable. The rest of her body was just fine, no sunburn at all. The rest of our trip we used the other product on her face, and it worked just fine, although harder to apply. I will never buy this product again. I am so disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally!!! Friendly to those allergic! Thank Heavens! I am so happy to find a product that does not contain Vitamin A! I'm severly allergic to fish, and can use any fish oil derived products. Almost all sunscreen (even baby, or sensitive formulas) have vitamin A in them. This works for me, no rash after. It's great to carry in your purse or car. I an a fair skinned redhead who drives a convertible. Now I can put the top down when the mood strikes me, knowing I always have sunscreen! If I am paleness is protected from the sun, anybody else will be as well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too white My dermatologist highly recommends neutrogena products. She suggested I use ire & free baby sunscreen. I purchased the stick form. It was very hard to apply on my face and body. It doesn't glide on softly. I think in applying this on a baby's skin it would hurt and pull on their tender skin. As it hurt and pulled on my skin when I applied it. It is very white! I thought it would disappear after applied but it did not. I use many of your products however, I will not use this or recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I use this product when i go to day baseball games I've read about the skin cell mutations from the chemical sunscreens. My dermatologist told me that Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide was the only true sunblock that was safe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Friendly to those allergic The Neutrogena® Pure & Free® Baby Sunscreen Stick Broad Spectrum SPF 60+ works great on my small children. Easy to pop in pocket or purse, no potential for leakage. Yeah, it does leave a white film on their skin but that physically block out UV rays. I would prefer this type of sunscreen on my kid's skin. My kids developed an allergic reaction to chemical sunscreens. I use these up faster, because I use them on my kids arms legs etc. too, but it's less wasteful than having to toss a nearly full tube of expired sunblock. I'll take these product over inflammation and rash any day. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hyper-allergic to everything but this product! I've been allergic to chemical sunscreens all my life (I'm pushing 40). Every time I found a physical sunscreen on the market, with titanium dioxide as the main ingredient, it wouldn't be waterproof. I'm extremely pale, and so hyper-allergic that even touching a doorknob from someone who's wearing sunscreen can put me in the ER. When my husband found this product, I was overjoyed. I have 2 children, and my whole family uses this religiously during the summer months. I've never had a break-out, neither has my kids. This is a thick sunscreen, so if you apply too much, your skin will have difficulty "breathing," as it were, leading to itchiness (I wonder if this is what happened with some of the negative reviewers). Also, like any sunscreen product, you must diligently reapply (e.g. a 60 spectrum must be applied every 60 minutes). I can literally apply this sunscreen all day long and not even tan. It is an absolute miracle sunscreen for someone like me who's spent much of her life avoiding pools, the beach, etc. due to the allergic reactions. Now, I can play in the pool with my kids knowing they're protected and I won't break out in hives from touching them. My only complaint is that the sticks are too small. I wish they made larger ones. We run through these far too quickly. PLEASE don't stop making this product! It's a life saver for hyper-allergic people like me!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy Accident - Convenient and effectiv I picked this up from a clearance rack, thinking it would be nice to carry in my glove box or purse without making a mess. I have a sun allergy, and just apply to the back of my hands, my ears, and the parts of my face that my gigantic hat might not cover....It really works!! I have to apply less often than lotion sunblock, and the protection is solid. I picked this up for convenience, but I love the effectiveness!
