Reviews
Neutrogena Sunscreen, SPF 60+ 3 fl oz (88 ml) is rated 2.4 out of 5 by 102.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Causes a rash Like many of the other reviewers, this product gives me a terrible rash like any regular sunscreen. Neutrogena's previous product, however, as also mentioned by reviewers, worked great. As I recall, the older product contained only zinc oxide as the main active ingredient. The new product, however, adds titanium oxide in addition to the zinc. I've tried other "sensitive skin" sunscreens, which also have both titanium and zinc, and they give me a rash too, so I suspect it's the titanium. Unfortunately I have not been able to find any brand of sensitive sunscreen that does not contain titanium. It is very frustrating because I can't ever wear any sunscreen now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Made my face feel like it was on fire I purchased this sunscreen for my honeymoon to Hawaii and every time I used it it made my face feel like it was on fire and it stung really bad. My husband had the same effect from it. It made my skin break out, painfully dry, and like others mentioned it also made my face look white for a long time after applying it. I also burned on my face despite reapplying the sunscreen as directed by the instructions on the bottle. I never tried this SPf 30 version people keep mentioning in the reviews, but if Neutrogena brought it back I think it is the only sun care product by the brand that I would try again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Highly allergenic product This product should not be classified as a "sensitive skin" one. It contains, among other "inactive" ingredients, methylisothiazolinone - which is a highly allergenic ingredient, and butyloctyl salicylate. There should be a warning that it shouldn't be used by those allergic to salicylates including aspirin. Please bring back the spf30 sensitive skin product I (and others) have used for years. It's the only one I can use, and I need it for a serious sun reaction year round. I'm really disappointed in Neutrogena for putting us through this again. I was so relieved when it became available last year. But I am running out of my supply. If you can't make it available in stores, at least continue to market it online. It's obviously very important for many of us.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from bring back the old Sensitive Skin Suncreen Lotion I have dry, very sensitive skin. The old version of Sensitive Skin Suncreen Lotion 30 is the only sunscreen I've been able to tolerate for years. From reading the other reviews, it sounds like other people have had the same experience. This product doesn't provide the same level of moisture as the old one. It fact it has a weird texture that makes my skin feel tight. Plus so many of the newer Neutrogena products have fragrance, which for many of us is the problem that irritates our sensitive skin. Please bring back the older, simpler formula.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Please bring back SPF 30 SPF60 Burns & Irritates I just found this site because I was looking all over the internet for the SPF 30 version. I used that for years in desert sun and it was wonderful. No irritation. I thought I was alone in feeling the burning from the SPF60, and the subsequent red, scaly skin on my arms after using it. But here I see it appears to be a normal negative reaction. I will never use the SPF60. It burns instantly and accentuates red sensitive spots on my skin. And it makes my skin more sensitive to wind burn. Dry wind is common in the desert. Please bring back the mild SPF 30. And thanks for being courageous enough to allow us to publish real results of the new product in public. Better than most clinical trials.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I also preferred the old version I'm reading these reviews and cannot understand why Neutrogena changed their product to be a more complicated one. The simple sunblock preparation without a lot of added ingredients was the best. The only time I have been able to find it in recent years was in a drug store in Puerto Rico this past Christmas - and I grabbed it and brought it home. Please bring back the old product to be an alternative to the current, more complicated version of today. Keeping it simple is better for the body and is less apt to cause the allergic reactions reported here by so many.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible product I bought this product to go on holidays and on the first day I used it and it caused my face to become irritated and had a burning feeling before even being in the sun. After being in the sun my face was stinging so badly. I did not have a burn but it felt worse than a burn. After 2 days my face then was bumpy and became very leather like and then started to peel in thick layers a few days after. A week later it is still flaking and still very irritated and raw. Had to remain in the shade the whole trip. Will never use this product again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Red rash on V of chest and neck I bought this for a vacation to AZ. First day there I went in Pool and sat out for about 45 minutes. It protected me from getting sunburned. But I got a red itchy rash on my chest and neck. I kept using it every day but tried to stay out of the sun. On my last day of my 2 week trip I went to the pool again. I kept my chest and neck covered. Now my arms have the red rash. I still have the rash after 2 1/2 weeks on my chest and my arms. I was thinking I might be allergic to the sun. But after reading other reviews I think it might be the sun screen. This is the first time I have gotten this rash.
