Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product This is my second Philips electric toothbrush and I am happy with its performance and ease of use. The only slight flaw I find with this device as well as with the first one is the connection between the brush head and the base. The metal connector is very small and hard to see especially for older users, the flat side matches with the flat side inside the base I have, in haste, put it on the wrong way a few times causing it to vibrate badly, though it still worked until the battery finally died. A foolproof design that stopped the user from placing it on the wrong way would be an improvement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I have used a Philps electric toothbrush for about 5 years at my dentist's suggestion. It cleans my teeth much better than any toothbrush I have ever used before. He recently recommended the sonicare series 3 gum health electric toothbrush. Even though my original Sonicare still worked well I purchased the series 3. I now have one to keep in my travel bag and even if we go camping without electricity I can still take care of my teeth. I certainly recommend this toothbrush to all of my family and friends. Since I have been using it I get better dental check ups and do not have to see my dentist as oftern.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from "Gentle" doesn't cut it I've been using Sonicare toothbrushes for over 10 years, so when my FlexCare+ died last month after 4 years I immediately purchased another Sonicare. The new 3 Series gum health was a bit less expensive, and I never used the alternative settings on my FlexCare+ anyway, so I bought the gum health and I regret my decision. This toothbrush just doesn't do the deep cleaning that the FlexCare+ did and my gums and teeth feel the difference. My wife feels that the FlexCare+ is too rough, so I thought that the gentler action of the Series 3 might appeal to her, but she found its action too jarring, and we both disliked the loud vibration buzz that we were unable to quell. I have just returned the Series 3 and bought another FlexCare+ for myself. Brushing with it today was like returning to an old friend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great toothbrush This toothbrush does an excellent job cleaning my teeth. It signals when it is time to focus on a different portion of my mouth. It holds a charge well (for many days). There is a light that comes on to warn that the battery level is getting low. This helps to prevent the unpleasant experience of having the battery die (the toothbrush quit running) while brushing one's teeth. It is small and compact. It reaches to my very back teeth comfortably and without a struggle. When it is time to replace this toothbrush I will probably replace it with the same.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gets the Job Done This is my first electric toothbrush after being urged by my dentists for years to do so because I was brushing too hard and damaging my gums. I wish I had done this sooner because it protects my gums and more: it provides a gentle uniform pressure and it gets my teeth much cleaner than a manual toothbrush. It's nice to be able to count on it to take exactly 2 minutes. I have had it for 6 months, and the battery is still holding a charge. I took it on a 10 day vacation to Europe, and never had to charge it. I would urge anyone whose dentist is bugging them to get an electric toothbrush to get this one - and don't wait!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Crazy noisy My family has had Soniccare units for over 6 years. We love them and always recommend them. We were unable to buy replacement brushes for our older units so we decided to buy 4 new ones. We got the 3 Series units and after opening one and using, We returned them all. They are made totally different than the old units and are crazy noisy. the new model sounds like it is coming apart unless you hold a finger on against the tooth brush head, which slows it down. It simply rattles so much it woke my wife with out bathroom door closed. The new model is just cheap. I would pay way more to get new units like the old ones we are trying to replace. If this is where the Soniccare line is going, guess we will be shopping for new tooth brushes with a different name as well. SO DISAPPOINTED.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Easy to use Bought this to see if it would help improve my gum health over using a manual brush. It took about a week to get use to using and having a small size brush and the vibration in my mouth. Sometimes it feels like my teeth are still needing to be cleaned even after the 2 minutes of using at which time I use my manual brush with the large head to finish the job. My next Dentist appt isn't until early Nov so we will see them if my gum gaps have improved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome toothbrush I purchased this toothbrush at my Dentists office after another disappointing visit. I am so very careful with my dental hygiene since my family has a history of gum disease. After one single use I could fell the difference between using this as opposed to manual brushing. I have used other in the past but this design works for me. Never going back to manual and looking forward to a long relationship with Philips Sonicare in the future.
