    When to Wear a Mask

    Updated: 5/21/21

The CDC’s new mask guidelines say it’s now safe for fully vaccinated people to take their masks off in most settings. You are considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after the second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine. You are still required to follow any mask mandates that are required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.

It’s recommended that those who are not fully vaccinated yet still follow the CDC recommended mask guidelines.  When we all get vaccinated we collectively reduce our risk of spreading COVID-19 and can go back to doing the things we love with friends and family.

Every situation and its related risk level is different. It’s important that you understand the risk you may be exposing yourself, your household and your community to. Remember, the best thing you can do for you, your friends, family, and community is to get vaccinated.
