Making your own Easter basket is a great way to save money—all you need are a few supplies and a little creativity! Here’s how to make adorable, budget-friendly DIY baskets that are sure to delight.
Pick up inexpensive containers. You can choose anything from plastic food storage containers to beach pails, or even upcycle something you have on hand (like an old hat). You’ll also need crepe paper in fun Easter colors, some floral wire, scissors, and glue.
Poke two holes in the sides of the container and attach a wire handle. Wrap frilled crepe paper around the handle and decorate with bows.
Fold a strip of crepe paper in half. Hold the paper so the fold is on the top and make small cuts along the bottom to create frills. Glue the strip around the bottom of your container with the frills pointing down. Continue gluing strips up and around the basket until it is covered in frills.
Now’s the time to fill your basket! Add some Easter grass or tissue paper and top it with fun toys and snacks, like Play-Doh, Rainbow Glitter Glue from ArtSkills, and Hershey’s Miniatures.
