Make Brushing Teeth Fun for Kids

Post Date: March 2017

4 tips for making brushing more fun for kids.

Take turns

Children learn best by observation and imitation, so give your little one a taste of how a pro does it. Letting your child watch you brush and floss your teeth will encourage them to try it out for themselves.

Sing a song

Kids love nursery rhymes and singing, and a simple song can help reinforce new concepts. Try singing "This is the way we brush our teeth, brush our teeth . . . we do it in the morning (or evening)," to the tune of "The Mulberry Bush."

Go shopping

Kids like to make independent choices, so involve your kid in picking out toothbrushes and toothpaste. Fun options that feature their favorite characters, like the Colgate Kids Power Toothbrush (featuring Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!) will get kids excited to brush.

Offer a reward

Is your little one still hesitant? Offer a fun reward if they brush their teeth, like a sticker on a reward chart or an extra hug.
