Mythbusting: "I have to pay to get the COVID-19 vaccine."

The COVID-19 vaccine is free to all eligible individuals. 

The US government is providing the COVID-19 vaccine free of charge to all people living in the United States, regardless of their immigration or health insurance status. As a vaccine recipient, you cannot be charged for the COVID-19 vaccine. 

If the vaccine is free, why do I need to bring my insurance information? 

COVID-19 vaccination providers bill either insurance companies or the Federal government to help cover the cost of the vaccination, but those charges never get passed along to the customer. Bringing your health or prescription insurance information to your vaccination appointment helps speed up your appointment and ensures your pharmacy or health care provider gets reimbursed for the vaccine administration.
