Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than most creams, works amazing I do not have kids, but instead use this product on myself. I do get rashes often and they are very painful(sometimes it hurts to even walk), so I've been looking for a cream to help it. Some stuff works, but not so great. When I found Desitin in my local store, I wondered, "Well, why not try it?" I used it before I went to sleep and when I woke up I felt amazing. Definetely useful for a lot of things. It really worked! However, there's one thing. It's really hard to wipe off, and sometimes it leaves white residue for a day or two. I'm going to try Rapid Relief and see if that's any better. But I definetely recommend this if you're using it for a child or yourself!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bring back the 16oz tubs! My child has the worst rashes most Doctors have seen. She's allergic to several ingredients used in wipes and diapers. I would go through a 16oz tub of Desitin max strength in 12 DAYS. I am a STRUGGLING PARENT on a limited budget. I depended on the 16oz tubs and this company has LET ME DOWN. I have had to switch to Boudreaux's Butt Paste maximum strength 14oz tubs. If anyone needs something similar to Desitin, you can find it on sale on Amazon for 14-15 dollars per tub every few weeks, so keep it on your watch list and stock up! I have dropped all Johnson & Johnson products, that's how angry this made me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the Original Paste. Has been reformulated with different Inactive ingredients. The new formula is a totally different product. Whereas the real Original Paste was very thick, required smearing, and stayed where you put it (think the consistency of Jif or Skippy PB kept in the fridge) the new version is more like toothpaste. Kind of a problem with a product that is a nightmare to wash out of anything, esp. when diapering a highly mobile 9+month old. I am running out of the nice supply I bought from Babies R Us when my 6y.o. was born - which we used when I was working in the neonatal ICU and which my Mom used on us - the smell, not at all unpleasant, was unmistakably the same. The new one however is heavily fragranced. I will not buy it ever again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The BEST to prevent and treat for sensitive skin - Even on broken/raw skin! This is better than the rapid relief cause it's thicker and works longer and quicker. It's harder to get off but my baby is worth it! She's only had 1 bad diaper rash and it was when we were using a lesser quality product. This one cleared it right up and she's never had more than a little redness or a little raw skin since! In fact, we just switched completely to this for ALL diaper changes and she hasn't had a diaper rash in MONTHS! My daughter was a premie (33 weeks) and it was gentle enough on her sensitive skin even back when she was in the hospital. It's more expensive but COMPLETELY WORTH EVERY PENNY and I will never decide to buy a bargain over something I know prevents her pain :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not just for rash, heals acne as well!!! My daughter (14 yrs old) has had really horrible hormonal breakouts and she told me a friend recommended Desitin. I thought it sounded a bit off the wall, but when I saw that is contained Zinc Oxide I thought we'd give it a try. She wears it as a mask at night. After the first night she saw a reduction in pimples and after a week she is more excited than she has ever been with all types of other chemical products (she doesn't like the smell of tea tree oil).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Please bring back the 16 oz jar!! Please bring back the 16 oz jar. My babies have sensitive skin and this is the only brand that works. With two babies in diapers and using every change to keep their skin healthy, the jars are more convenient. Easier than the tubes and more cost effective. I tried the other Destin (blue version), not effective with my babies. I tried it because it had the 16 oz. Please bring it back or let us know why you can't. Thanks!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE BRING BACK THE 16oz TUBS. I absolutely love this product and so do my children. I recently adopted two children - one is a 3 year old boy and the other is his 17 month old sister. They both have very sensitive skin and this is the only product that I can use on them where they don’t break out in hives or make the diaper rash worse. I’ve tried the blue tube and other brands to no avail. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE reverse your decision to discontinue the 16oz. tubs and make it available to all of us frustrated Moms. The tubes (2oz. or 4oz.) are not economical or practical for those of us who need the larger size due to constant (preventive) use. Please talk it over with the customer service personnel or your management team and bring back the bigger size tub

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not usually in the crowd, but..... I came to this website hoping to find the 16 oz jar of the maximum strength for purchase. But I see that everyone else is having the same issue. I wish I knew that they were discontinuing it; I would have stocked up wherever I saw it. I agree with all the previous posts. The little tubes go too fast, and then you lose 0.5 oz. by what sticks inside the tube. And now that I know that desitin isn't smart enough to cater to their Consumers, I will also migrate to another brand.
